A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that gives a specific nominated person or people, these are known as your attorneys, the authority to make decisions as if they were you should you lose mental capacity.
PHH Solicitors have many years’ experience in advising individuals and families on the needs of making a lasting power of attorney. Appointing an attorney allows you to appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf should you not be able to do so.
There are two types of LPAs:
1. Property & Affairs – This allows your attorneys to make decisions about your property and finances which include your banks, investments, and pensions.
2. Health & Welfare – This allows your attorney to make decisions about your health and care.
Our Solicitors can help you to navigate issues surrounding complex medical needs and financial arrangements to ensure your wishes are followed by your appointed attorney.
